Messiah Music would like to congratulate Tommy Emmanuel on being awarded the Queen’s Member of the Order of Australia recently. Tommy was awarded the honour for ‘service to the music and entertainment industries as a guitarist, and to the community as a supporter of Kids Under Cover.’

Always wanted to know what timbers are used for Maton guitars?

Australia has a wide range of under-utilised tonewoods, and as the supply of traditional material diminishes these timbers will come into their own as a world standard. Many of the Australian timbers are plantation grown and will yield musical instruments after 80 years, as opposed to the hundreds of years required for traditional woods.

Maton has been developing the use of these timbers for the last 50 years and it would be safe to say that nobody knows Australian tonewoods better than Maton. Read the full article here

The BG808 Performer Series

This new guitar series continues the success of the BG808. It carries the original 808 shape with a slightly thinner body and soft cutaway. Its Bunya soundboard provides the volume and punch to more than compensate for a small body. Comfort and playability are the keys to this purpose built series.
